you found me
when i thought i was alone
lost, you brought me home
you discovered me
my passion, my resolve
my feelings, with your stable shoulders
you uncovered
the pain and sadness
and banished them
and replaced them instead with your essence
you molded me
with determination and strength
by the seat on your back
you taught me dedication
you gave me trust
and in those unstable hands
somehow i was able
so i gave you mine
along with my heart and undying love
it still burns for you

thank-you
for everything that you were
for it created everything that i am
i am honoured
that you chose me
to be your partner
maybe it was because we shared
the same hurts
that we were able to blossom
together
you were so beautiful to me
i grew with you
as did you with me
i could not ask for anything
more precious than the time i spent with you
i will love you forever

keep waiting
and i will find you again
i promise

I think that one of the biggest reason why relationships do not work out in the long run is because at one point, one side (or both) stops trying. Before one claims another person as their significant other, they would do anything to make that person happy. They would chase, they would flirt, they would be charming. They would send daily morning and goodnight texts every time you wake up or go to sleep. They would write corny messages and pick up lines just to make sure that there is a smile upon your face. But once they claim you as theirs, all of those things eventually stop. The 5 page texts slowly turn into 1. The constant calls turn into not calling at all. And the lovely endearments turn into daily arguments. In order for a relationship to work, don’t ever stop chasing. Just because the person you want is now consider “yours”, it does not mean they deserve anything less than the time when you’re trying to win them over.
“Can I walk beside you?”
We can talk and chatter about future plans
Your voice reminds me of all my dreams
And after joke with tired eyes about unimportant things
“I’d love to walk beside you.”

“Can I hold your hand?”
I want to feel your warmth and clammy hands
Strong fingers interweaving in and out of mine
And I would tell you how great you are at love
“But of course you can.”

“Can you hold me now?”
Your body is so warm when it’s next to me
I couldn’t feel safer than with you here
And I can tell by the way you breathe that you will say
“Only if you want me to.”

“Can you kiss my lips?”
No awkward moment’s in-between movement
Because then will be more than perfect timing
And with your lips formfitting my mouth it’s hard not to fall in love
“Don’t say another word.”

“Can we fall in love?”
Just hold my face in your clammy hands I know too well
Stare me straight in the eyes different than before
And you know I already memorized the pages of your open book
“There’s no need to ask.”

I want you to know
that i didn't answer you
solely because i wanted you to feel bad.
i'm really not ashamed about it
i think you deserved it.

You can't just always expect me to be around
that's not fair.
i'll be there for a smile
maybe a laugh sometimes
but you can't have all of me
without loving me
i deserve
love.

You can't
play with me when you're bored
hold me when you're lonely
tell me that you love me...
when something better comes along
you can't forget
everything you ever said
to me.
you can't
but you did.
i'm worth more than that
and you know it
that's why you're trying to call me
but you've missed more than phone a call
you've missed out
on everything.

Stop.
it's not fair.
i'm too tired
for you to do this to me.
i can't even finish
a ******* poem
without you trying to get a hold of me...
and here i go
responding
because you just told someone you were only "ok"
just so i'd feel bad...

you win
this time.
