A stem is gone,
The leaves won’t shiver,
As the wind swirl around

A portrait that is blank,
A sky, austere as dust
Sprinkle on the blue view

Of your eyes that see no stem,

That holds petals
And leaves,
That won’t quiver,

Because the earth is wrinkled.
Manila, 2008
Her bare feet slapped against the pavement.
Tulle skirt stuck to her sweaty thighs.
The first drop fell.
Rain came that day.

Arms outstretched, she started to twirl.
Until the footsteps came near.
Out of time with the thunder claps and bursts of light.
She stopped and stared.

He was there.
Drenched in the rain.
Watching.
She laughed and pulled him to dance with her.
Feeling fine
Like a paper cup full of ice
An inter-dimensional(being)
Laughing
Or
Agreeing
Take off your disguise,
Beautiful
Let me see those pearly-eyes
Ruby lips
Diamond cheek bones
May I kiss?
May I sit?
Another cup of tea
Cross legged
And leaning
I feel like I'm dreaming
As you play your harpsicord
For no reason at all
You play with the treble
Line to line
Perfect pretty rhytm
Dancing in time
The melody of your thin dress
And the shape it reveals
May I have a kiss?
The summer of smell
On your perfume
The jump of your eyes
Are a dancing big-a-loo
The spark of your fingers
A flash electric blue
You dripped in the light
The teeth of your smile
The color of white
But no
I cannot stay
With summer here
It's time to play
If your mother says you can't come out
I'll stand outside
I'll scream
I'll shout
Over radios
And t.v screens
Shooting cap pistols
At everything
Because last night I had a dream
You called on the phone
I hear  your  whisper
On the reciever
You're a believer
Dream breather
and even then.
when: ruby sand
rubs youths notions
from thy soft aperture.
still i knee bend
to thy: lady so haloed
in my lashes.
ever always you are mine.
                                           and
                                       so
                                    to
                                 am
                                i
                      yours
         gentle
stem
i can see the bare back
of a small human
glowing
in the darkness

others kindly gather around
but all you can see is
bare skin
and faces

one face shows teeth
White straight teeth
and leans forward
tearing a chunk
of the flesh from the edge of the back

the face looks like mine
and i feel terror
but everyone seems calm

except him
he wanders through...
everywhere i turn
his eyes that won't look at mine
JUST HOLD ON TO ME
I'M BREAKING

i need him

i'm lost inside of myself
The sweetest music confidently plays
in the evening shade
Moving triumphantly
I lay me down to sleep
Yet, my mistaken heart
still beats afraid
My eyes stop to weep

No one is looking
as my reflection
shows on a drop of tear
The world has no thoughts
of me and mine
Yet, the sweetest music
is still here
Tasting like
the finest wine

Why can I not soar into these notes
my heart can hear
Taste the sweet warmth of this wine
Accept that I have naught to fear
In this mistaken
heart of mine

A warming brush of lips I feel
upon my weary brow
Moving softly,  I lay me down to sleep
Hushing my mistaken heart
and tears of now
Taking my fears away
to keep

Some days you hold a bed of roses as only a state of mind
Promises seem to be forgotten in drifting pieces
Wondering how absence thinks of ways to make fonder
A heart that watches time burning bridges
With faith that never ceases

So often an eager crowd serves a master of lonely places
You can hear them whispering words of praise
They are swirling in a powerful roundabout of illusion
Spent in rooms where the only way out
Cannot be paraphrased

Some have chosen their scars as seed to plant in rows
Then wonder why their fields are full of pain
Aside from sorrow can you imagine what could dwell
As rows of beautiful flowers in the heart
Where love remains

We hear I am sorry in a moment that passes forgotten
On days when a bed of roses does not exist
Should we choose to serve a master of lonely places
Or plant seeds of forgiveness in our fields
From unclenched fists
