                                                     “You Did It!”

                                    As Colonel Pickering might say

On occasion my wristwatch reads, “You did it!”
At first I appreciated the congratulations
Though I wasn’t sure of the diddly-did I did
Until I sinked or synched the watch to something else

Whereupon I learned that my watch was praising me
For somehow managing to stand on my feet  -
High praise for a drunk or an invalid (may I say so?)
But since so little praise comes to me, I accept it

I imagine standing before the King of Sweden
Who awards me the Nobel for standing at all
My Apple Watch praises me.

Be Still, and Bring Your Attention to Your Breath

And so we find ourselves obeying a watch:
Be still, and bring your attention to your breath
We do, and watch an aquamarine lotus
Glowing and growing and pulsing before our eyes

Now inhale

And ponder the mysteries of respirations
Breathe in the air that was always here
From Creation until now and beyond
A mystic stream through all living things

And exhale

Giving back to all that which was given
Knowing that it will be enriched and returned
Obey the watch!

“Lawrence’s Apple Watch is Fully Charged”

Oh, sure, the MePhone is pleased to say that now
But long before the day spins down the watch
Percentages add up to little and so
I must find the magnetic sticky thing

The charger and the watch embrace with passion
You can almost see the electricity
That sparks their one-ness and their holy bond
Leaving my wrist empty and timeless for a time

“Lawrence’s Apple Watch is fully charged”
But reluctant to leave its charger for long
I love my Apple watch in every way except that it requires a recharge twice each day.
