Every now and then
I need to reflect
So with paper and pen
I have to connect
Myself to a city thats been hurt
For what its worth
I see the hidden beauty
Within her border lines
A city thats lost in time
It's people no different than you or I
They've been beaten and hurt their whole lives
No we can't blame the individual for his crimes
Because they've lost their way in time
So in bitter wretchedness they sulk
In the once beautiful land of oaks
Uniformed men make it so confining
But in every grey cloud theres a silver lining
I do not live there but it helps me think
To watch this city so near the brink
Of destruction
And of dysfunction
I hope this helps in the construction
of a new picture of this place
Of a new world in every face
Just walk around there once, you will not fall
Just admire the youthful art upon the walls
Graffiti they call it
But it is not so
I cannot just sit
As this art is thrown
Aside
Besides
These times
Need these crimes
To bring back the beauty of this city
Steeped in its harshness
My city of darkness
Lost in the timely sands
No this is not merely a poem
But an ode to Oakland

Music
Makes my mind clear
Music
Is all i want to hear
It takes away my pain
Makes grey skies as clear as day
but you know what they say
good things can never last
its not as fun as it was in the past
they're moving on as i get passed
by the world
leaving me no plan to unfurl
this is something i alone cannot fix
lets face it once again I'm caught in the mix

Merrily
And warily
The girl does spin around
Jubilantly
Exuberantly
The girl does hum a sound
A face
Of grace
And slightly comical
Her hair be blonde
Her eyes be blue
With a tiny pointed nose
Freckles dance upon her face
Like music from another place
Where she's from no one knows
From a world
Of little black lines
The girl does find
Another life

My heart is a mirror
Shattered like glass
I look into my past
and feel the pain
of my life and times
Lost all in one day
Those voices are stirring
My veins are all burning
My muse is gone
My fuse lit
I sing this song
And here i sit
Wondering what if i could change my actions
To cure this fatal attraction
To freeze the motion of this reaction
Decisions
Death
Illusions
No breath
Confusion
Ahead
My vision
Of my corpse lifeless and dead
My heart is a mirror
In which i see my true self
A loneley pathetic man
Who stands alone and grand
Where ocean meets sand
I stare into the glass
Trying to forget my past
Yet i find myself back where i started
Inside this shattered mirror
Of the broken hearted

Boredom comes
And boredom goes
Boredom shrinks
And boredom grows
None of you can see
What boredom knows
Can you make it through
What boredom sows

She chewed me up
And spit me out
She ****** me in
Now I want to shout
As my fury rises
The pain hypnotizes
Totally mesmerizes
And now I cry
For love once gained
But is now lost
I feel that I've been tossed
Aside
I cant hide
From this tangle of lies
She claims to love another
Yet she meets me under covers
And now she left me in the dirt
Lonely and hurt
And now I'm sure
In every bone
And every joint
I'm all alone
Soaring past my boiling point

Welcome back
To my life
The fear of attack
No longer inside
You're mine
But now we fly together for an eternity
No more pain
We refrain
From breaking eachother to pieces
And if it pleases
The masses of those who don't care
I will stay with my star who is so fair
She lifts my spirit out into the galaxy
And even beyond
Into a universe where I'm finally happy
I know I'm not wrong
I was never wrong at all
Never again will pain make me fall
Because I can finally say...
Bienvenue mon étoile
