She's never seen these flying dreams
As the streams of melodious songs do follow
Holding onto the scent of her hair in my mind
As if sealed so tightly in a bottle
Sending messages so serene
Opening once undiscovered doors
All this from passing a girl
I've never met before

She'll never know those five minutes of longing
The sorrow that came and gone as she passed
The strings on my heart plucking away in me
In a medley never meant to last
In that moment she was all there was to me
Her feet almost seemed to glide on this dusty floor
No inkling of the song I heard or the things I'd felt
The girl I loved and had never met before
Mary, Mother of God--
Born without Sin
Conceived without Man

Gaia, Mother of All
Titans, Gods, the Land of Men--
She gives and takes away

Lady of the Lake
Guardian of King Arthur's Might--
Excalibur

Taylor Alison Swift--
undeniably gained Fame
through Boys' Misfortune
Dressed to go not sure what to say
The courage to do so will power over comes all
Wearing my best wish things look how I imagined
Staying calm not getting my hopes up
Not sure if this opportunity is mine given a chance
Not sure what to make of these emotions
Uncertain but hoping to make this come true
Out and down for too long need this to comeback
Feeling left out dead inside with this I could rise to new levels regain all that is missing and lost
Save up rebuild for the future let it be more than I could possibly see
Thankful for change always helping others
Always one to stick my neck out
In time I shall find out
Once in a while
let us not be frightened
of ghosts living within
our bodies.
Let us forget the routines
that make our lives
machine-made.
Let our music be played
one afternoon
until the world hears our
pains and the things we can't contain.
Dance pirouettes—whirling gracefully,
knowing the center of the earth.
That we are the center of the earth
spinning to find one another
although we carry
the same heavy roots
of our past.
But of all these things
we are uncertain of—
let us keep ourselves boldly
with our faith
with our love.
I love you baby,
From x approaching a limit of positive to negative infinity.
A range so large and domain so vast,
My love for you will always last.
The way my curve touches your tangent,
And how your secant meets me end to end.
When your line intersects my parabola,
We connect at one point of linear algebra.
You transform my altitude,
When my sinusoidal function allows you too.
You make my average rate of change,
Quicken and heighten in an instantaneous range.
For those days when my angle is in depression,
You tilt me up to an angle of elevation.
In an isosceles triangle,
You will always be my special angle.
The identities we cross,
Changing from tan to sin over cos.
Like sin²x with cos²x we are one,
It’s quite simple ***.
Your imaginary roots maybe out of this world,
But my zeros and intercepts will keep it real.
It’s a complicated equation,
To solve for my fascination.
It’s the beginning of our journey,
I hope we never come across an inequality.
I love you endlessly like x approaching positive and negative infinity.
I do not write my special loved ones math poems, I promise.
Through eyes of red and thoughts of green
there's always more that can be seen.
Within the word of poet thieves,
that break the windows,
steal the keys,
you
choose
to make your own decrees.
A man is more than just a man
and space is full of more than sand...
But who will lend a helping hand
when eyes are closed across this land..?

I think your job may be the chain
in which you build your own domain.

Disguised in a three-piece suit,
the Cowboy has made off with Helen of Troy.
Already leagues from the rubble of city walls,
the dust rises in billows as they
fly away breakneck on his Trusty Steed.
They hear the echoing uproar breaking
at their heels. Helen's hair is a streaming
banner of war, skin flushing a ruddy apple red.
She thinks of Golden Paris in his silence
reposed in long limbed quiet on their gilded bed,
waiting for her, for the fire to peel away
their faces, the scent of burnt fruit and decadent spoils
our sacrifice to the tittering gods, the insatiable Aphrodite.

But Helen rides.
The wind smells like foreign spices waiting for
her tongue. She breathes in the sweat on the back
of the Cowboys neck. Freedom is musk and cotton,
the rumbling murmur of water channels and ravines
rocking under their feet.

They sink into the western horizon and
I turn away from their embrace,
pausing to watch glorious Troy fall into
fast decay under their lengthening shadow.

As we sat at lunch that day
(it seems so long ago now),
I tried to explain the ins
and outs of my breakup,
but burst into tears instead.
You're a boy,
and I forgive you for that;
but just like the typical boy,
you didn't quite know
how to hold
a sobbing female.
Figures.
But you tried anyway,
and I appreciate it.
In one fluid motion,
your arms were about me,
holding me to your chest
while I tried to refill my lungs with air.
Even through the snot and tears,
I could smell your laundry detergent,
and was comforted.
In that moment,
I could feel your heart race.

*But what you'll never know is mine did too.
