There's a quiet murmuration
Of figments of my imagination
Dreams and broken notions
Feelings and emotions
Swirling and rearranging
Into ever-changing shapes in my mind

There are absent gods and howling dogs
And the broken backs of the poor
While jugglers perform tricks with wealth
As nobody seems to care anymore
Amidst marching boots as children shoot
And hope lies dead on the floor

There seems to be a ghost somewhere
Wandering high in purple mountains
And low in deep green valleys
And this roaming soul may well be
A kind of long lost truth
Inside my hidden mind

                               By Phil Roberts
Release of frustration
                   Be a regular exercise
For a healthy score
                     In the competitions
Listen to their voices
The way you do for yourself

Is it not worthy of your greatness?
I have seen those that suffer
At the hands of their own make
Thinking problem solved if they could all
Just up and move away

But they don't know what comes will go
With you to the place you are
Unless you change your attitude
And have a change of heart

Because problems will all follow you
Whether or not you want them to
You can break the chains and let them loose
But with no change of heart they'll do what they do

So before you plan out your escape
Thinking to run and start anew
It's not the ones you hang out with
But what hangs out inside of you

You can try a brand new landscape
Where no one knows who or where you are
But all will stay the same unless you take
With you a change of heart
I know several people that have moved or wanting to move thinking a change of scenery will make their lives better...
The real problem is they need a heart change.
The way that I write poetry
I don't give it too much time
To sit and stew over what it should do
I just toss it out onto the line

As there's another one soon to come
And it'll just be in the way
Where my mind seems to rhyme all of the time
With all that it has to say

I write it down, brush it off
Polish is a thing of the past
If I let it sit around, here and there there about
It loses the thoughts it needed to grasp

I try not to go intellectual
As intellectually doesn't work for me
If your looking for prime examples
Just read my poetry

I write it out fast and furious
Whatever's on my mind at the time
And if you're the least bit courious
You can read what I think in rhyme

As I toss it out onto the line...
I'm in a poetry group and most of the guys there will anguish over their poetry for months on end until they feel it's perfect. Then anguish over it after that. Me...I write it down, wipe it's **** then send it out!
