Freckles make your back a map
Seabirds circle but they lack
Grasp of what youth endures
Vacating summer shores
Carrying their lives to sea.

Mechanically they return
For bright months they did not yearn-
Only their homecoming retells
Of warmth and hope in summer spells
Of ploughed soil, banked country roads
And feathers bent not under loads;
Put-to-side partners reconcile,
Their lives measured in sea miles
Time comfortably slipping away,
Together living easy days
Until they fly on.

So fragile in its exquisite form
Crystalline and glorious
Transparent to those who wish to see
Tossed around by the unworthy
Dropped and shattered
Crushed under pounding foot
In the sun a billion pieces sparkle
By moonlight it looks like stars
How beautifully broken the heart can be

No sweeter message

of sharing at  Christmas

If I fell in the forest

and you weren't there to catch me

would it hurt ...

twice as much.

Sarina K Cassell
The starting kiss tasted sour,
I tried to spit you out.
To no avail, I struggled here.

And you whispered before I could shout:
nobody cares, nobody hears, you will always be alone

PUSH me to the floor and beat away my hope.

The irony is clear.

Crystal, crystal, on the floor, a million tiny tears.

Diamond blade, unbreakable, cutting my consciousness.

you took me prisoner, my dear, without even locking the latch.

PUSH me into the corner, now, drill away my naivety.

I keep waiting, waiting, my patience drawing closed.

Why won't Karma eat you now?

He ate me a long time ago.

Scratch novel ideas
into my back
                       exceedingly deep,
forcing
a slow eruption
of ******,
poetic words.
