Drop all the pretense
and all inhibitions
Knock on the wood
of your superstitions
Make it your goal
along with your mission
To write in words open and free

You wrote in the obscure
before you found out
The power in the allure
of poetic know how
You say you want more
but is it allowed
This poetic ******

In the poet's life
there is nothing freer
In doing what you like
when you finally get there
Like an open mic night
makes everything clearer
What's meant to be is what's meant to be

So take it all off,
the words used to cover
And set them all free
like a jilted lover
Then you will see
there's no need for another
When you go naked poetry
There's no more need to talk now
In today's digital age
Where all the friends I really need
Are on my Facebook page

Three hundred some odd plus
Are with me day and night
They're all as close as they need be
With one push of my button "Like"

These digital days permit me to say
Will be the ruin of this age
If I knew how better to type
I'd have so much more to say

You've started posting all these pictures
From someone else's site
So I'm not sure if it's you anymore
Or them I really I like

Is this how we all now feel
Can we even feel now anymore
What I feel like most of the time
Is being locked behind closed doors

This digital age is all the rage
That's driving me insane
Trying to get to the nearest exit
But no one will let me over to change lanes

Then there's the text and text and text and text
Until we're all text out
And after all that texting
Do we know what we've texted about

If we ever sat down with someone
Across from them face to face
Would we stare at each other blankly
With no earthly idea of what to say

With this digital craze, it's getting late
We've wandered too far inside this maze
I'm afraid if we don't get out soon
*There will be no chance for escape
The wind in my hair
The sun on my face
A walk in the park
A tender embrace

A hand to hold
A friendly smile
Spending time with friends
For a little while

Reading a book
Just taking some time
To enjoy this life
Relaxing the mind

Remembering those
Long ago I once met
By sending a card
Showing I don't forget

Sharing,  caring  spreading the seed
Of gods love for all
In word and in deed
(Reverse Poem)
(Forward and Backward)

Formed by passion and sometimes bold
My poems they come from my soul
It is not my intention to offend
Just opinions and we all have them
I will delete words of hate
Choose your words and we can debate
Just message me and its okay
If you dont like what I say
Do not think your words can harm
I have been around way to long
No need to message and threaten me
I will not change to meet your needs
If you dont like just move on
These poems I write are mine alone
I have a right to feel this way
Though you may not like what I say
Formed by passion and sometimes bold
My poems they come from my soul
It is not my intention to offend
Just opinions and we all have them

(Now Read It Backwards)

**Carl Joseph Roberts
Another poet challenged me to write a reverse poem that can be read both frontward and backword. This is my attempt and it is harder then you may think.
They were down to less than a hundred
When they met on the battle front
That's when they beat their weapons back into plowshares
As each of them headed home

What it was that made the difference
Is they finally took the time
To really see the enemy
And themselves in each others eyes

All the peoples in the villages
Cheered their hero's back
Who brought with them sweet freedom
And in town center hung its flag

On the pole they wrote down the names
Of those who never would return
And all made a vow that day
That their lesson had been learned
Tears the soul...
it is the greatest theft.
It steals the
most valuable
gift of all...

TIME

Just think about it.

Soul Survior
I have to honestly say that
I have a problem with this.
