Shurangama Mantra
Matt Sep 2014
I went for a walk
At my old junior college
While the sun was setting

Outside
A corridor is formed
A building on the right
Classrooms on the left

The Sun shining down on the right half
Shade on the left side of the corridor

People walking to and fro
Going to class, Or going to their cars
I was just enjoying the sunset

A maintenance truck drives away in the distance
A guy with  Yankee hat walks by

As I walked back the other way
I saw the most gorgeous brunette
With a gorgeous body
I wished I could have hugged her

The bell tolls
The bright colors
Of the people's clothes

There are certain moments
And this was one
Where you know
You are seeing something truly rare

I took a mental photograph
Of that moment in time

The way this outdoor corridor
Was half light and dark
I walked where the setting sun was shining through

So mysterious this moment was
So rare
I almost cried

It's all I have
The times

I think I will go back there
To see the same time tomorrow

I love the Tao
The Tao is wise mother

It is good to see
To really look
So beautiful

It is so wonderful to watch people walk here and there

It is said a man who understands the Tao can die content in the evening

The shurangama mantra
Is a most holy mantra

The mantra was,
According to the opening chapter of the Shurangama Sutra, Historically transmitted by the Buddha Shakyamuni
To Manjushri Bodhisattva to protect Bhikshu Ananda
Before he had become an Arhat.

I included the link

I hope you enjoy Shurangama Mantra too
There is only the present
Truly live in the present
And you will find eternal bliss

The present is the only place you will ever be

Watch over my family Jesus
And watch over the good people of this earth
Who try to do what is right

I was at the gym this morning about 2:20 am
Then I came home for a bit of breakfast
Toast and cereal
An avocado too
Who doesn't love an avocado?

I listened and recorded
A Buddhist talk on tranquility

Then it was off to the golf course
35, 50, and 80 yard pitch shots

This afternoon
In the local park
Meditating
While I listened to the Shurangama mantra

Lying in the grass
I watched bees pollinating small flowers
A mother played with her daughter

As I left I saw a beautiful asian woman in her backyard

I came home and cleaned a few golf clubs
And recorded a lecture given by a speaker
Who spoke at the National WWII musem
About important military decisions
FDR made during the war

I also began a recording of a lecture
About how the Red Army defeated Germany

Then it was off the golf course
I chipped *****

There was a mother and her daughters chipping
And another lady too

I accidentally picked up her yellow ball
Thinking it was mine
She said it was hers

I apologized and told her I have a yellow ball just like that
She didn't say anything in response
I wish she would have chatted with me a bit
And said not to worry
But that's okay
Peace be with her

Then I went to the range
Where I hit 7 irons and gap wedges
3/4 swing
Good extension on the back swing
Follow through to the target
Good crisp shots
Hit off of sandy turf

I came home to my family
I love them very much

Jesus please forgive me
For the hate I have had in my heart
Please forgive me for the evil thoughts that I had

Sometimes it has just been so hard for me
To continue to live here
I love my family so much
I really do

But it's not fair
I've tried so hard to do what I would like to do
Well, I'll just keep trying

And in whatever I do,
I should remember to try to show the love
That Jesus showed to us

Freely given love
It is in giving that we receive

Well, I'm alone again
I wish I had a girlfriend to hold
Maybe one day
Until then I will have to hold my pillow

Another Saturday
Matt Feb 2015
You know I went to the gym like I always do
Then I went to the driving range
I love hitting golf ***** in the light rain

I drove around for a bit
Just past sunset
The tao is wise mother

A family were eating in there living room
A woman was in her upstairs room
The desk light shining bright

I listened to my buddhist mantra
The shurangama mantra
A beautiful mantra
Chanted quietly
So peaceful

I wonder why
Why life the way it is
Strange, but beautiful

Yes, I know this earth well
I keep the times
I observe the times
I like to see the big picture
The eyes of the observer

I came home
Some movies on
40 yr old ******
Flipping through a few more
***, violence, Arguments
I am happy I don't watch much television

I had my poached egg
I wish I had a good friend
I have a beautiful soul
And it is a tragedy
In this 21st century
I think many Americans my age are lonely

I think I may just go driving again
I don't know why
The endless wandering
Eyes never tired of seeing

Where is my hug?
Where is my good friend?

I have a few good friends
But they don't live near me now
I see them now and again

I think now of my therapist
I love her as my friend
But wish she would offer me a hug sometimes

I shouldn't have been so revealing
I shouldn't have cried in front of her
She sat so composed
I know she cares for me

I want to see her cry
Like I cried
I'm just as smart as her
She has her therapy job
And her husband
And everything is just hunky dory
With her first baby on the way

I wonder what she thinks of me
I'd like to hang out and be friends
Go on a hike together or something
She's not much of a friend
Just a therapist
I doubt she really cares that much at all

I still search for my close friend
For my true companion
This friendship goes deeper than
The love of two lovers
The love is deeper than that of a married couple
The greatest love is between friends

I hope to find a loving female friend
She understands
And loves me
I love her to

Maybe we will become intimate
No, better not
I will stay a ******

Better not to love like that
It is too risky
Where is my companion?

I guess its youtube videos again tonight
History or philosophy
I will take notes

Alone in my room
Always alone
Almost 30...

— The End —
