Once upon a time, there was a frog.
It was just a normal frog, nothing more, nothing less.
- - -

One day, it caught a fly and was going to eat it when it shouted:
"Don’t eat me!! I’m a magical fly. I’ll give you some of my magic!"

The frog couldn’t understand what magic does.
It was contented with just eating and surviving and reproducing, it didn’t need magic.
And so it ate the magical fly.

The next morning, when he woke up, he felt taller than usual.
When he saw his reflection in the pond, he stumbled backwards in shock.
He turned into a human!

After awhile, he realized that the magical fly caused this.
He wandered around aimlessly and stumbled upon a playground.
A human boy much smaller than him was reading a book with a picture of a frog on its cover.
Not knowing about human politeness, he snatched it.
He flipped through the pages and tore out the page of a female frog kissing a human man.
If he is a male-frog-turned-human, then he must kiss a female frog?
That’s what he must do.

He rushed back to the pond and realized he couuldn’t tell the genders of the frogs there.
Frantically, he kissed every frog he could catch.
After a moment of silence, nothing happened.

Confused, he went back to look at the picture again.
Maybe he should try kissing a female human instead?
With that thought in mind, he set out to look for female humans to kiss.
Unfortunately, every one of them pushed him away, and one even hurt his face with her hand.

Even more confused than before, he sat slumped against a tree.
He sat there the whole day, watching people who walked past him.
He didn’t realize this before, but humans have their own set of social rules.
He had to practise these rules before he could get close to a human and go back to his simple frog life again.

A month later, the frog-man managed to assimilate himself into human society.
He worked odd jobs and managed to befriend a man who is a university french lecturer he met at a cafe.
In fact, the frog-man was the one who approached him after learning about the term “french kiss”.
It has to be called that because only french people kiss, right?
Through him, he could probably find a french female and return to being a frog!

The frog-man found himself closely attached to the french man.
They would often eat, drink and talk till late at night.
They even had some impromptu ballroom dancing together when both were very drunk.
The frog-man had a lot of fun with him.
He thought, “this is what ‘friendship’ must be.”

One night, the frog-man was invited to the french man’s house for dinner.
It was a candlelight dinner, which was supposedly odd for two men, but the frog-man wasn’t familiar enough with human society to realize this.

After dinner, the french man switched on some jazz music and slowly approached him.
His eyes were locked on the frog-man and the frog-man started to feel odd.
The french man started tilting his head towards him.
The frog-man was shocked and recognized this gesture.
He was trying to kiss him!

For some reason, the frog-man’s heart started pounding loudly.
He squeezed his eyes shut.
He knew that this was wrong.
How could two males have such feelings for each other?
How will they reproduce and continue the human race?
"This is wrong! This is wrong! This is wrong!" He shouted in his head.
But for some reason, he couldn’t turn away.
Because it felt right.

Before he knew it, their lips collided, and when he opened his eyes, he was smaller than before.
He was a frog again.
Bewildered, he quickly clambered and hopped out of his house and hid in a nearby pond.

"It’s finally over. I’m a frog again." He sighed in relief.
He was happy again, to be back in his simple days as a frog.
He has to be happy, even if he’s not.
He has to be happy.
But he’s not.
Because there was no way he could turn into a human again.

He often found himself risking his life just to check on how the french man is doing.
Whenever the french man looked sad, he himself felt sad.

Back at his pond home, the female frogs didn’t interest him.
He couldn’t think about being with a female sexually again.

The male frog was shamed by the other frogs for refusing to help in carrying on the frog line.

Eventually, after spending an eternity alone, he found a way to do it by himself.

Once upon a time, there was a frog.
It was just a frog that went through love and loss, and in the midst of that, found its calling.
It was just a normal, asexual frog.
What was thought to be a small island ear to the Bermuda Archipelagos in the North Atlantic Ocean, discovered a hundred, or so, years ago. it's now been found to be, a uniquely rare species of a giant frog.
Resulting in a summit of all the world's scientists, and leaders, fearful that this frog may hop, or leap. and such is it's size, and weight, could cause a giant super Tsunami, that could flood the entirety of the globe.
Therefore, should they put into place, preventative measures, such as culling it. with this in mind, the French delegation immediately offered to dispose of the frog's legs.
It was decided to approach the problem by visiting the site, where the frog was sat, so a large cruise ship embarked on a small voyage to visit the site, so as to decide how best to deal with the situation, and the fate of the frog, that the press were now calling 'Frog Island'.
Meanwhile, the frog, which was just awakening after a long hibernation, opened it's enormous eyes, saw what it thought was a large fish floating nearby, and without waiting, it's massive tongue shot out, and swallowed the cruise ship whole. the stomach of the frog, was happy to digest the actual ship, but immediately disposed of it's contents, all wrapped up in spawn, and delivered out of it's rear end, shocked, but alive, and soon rescued.
Subsequently, there was an uncertainty, as to how to destroy the frog. If it were bombed, it may still cause a Tsunami, if it were poisoned, he impact could cause catastrophic environmental damage, and poison the world's oceans further. Another idea was proffered, perhaps they could try to somehow pin it down to the ocean floor, but the scientists couldn't reach any agreement, as they had no way of knowing how strong the frog may be, and besides, maybe it was so big, it couldn't move, even if it wanted to. No-one could even guess at it's origin, and felt sure it was some kind of anomaly, of some as yet unknown species, as the largest known frog until now, had been the Goliath frog, measuring up to just over 12". They took some comfort by the fact that there were no indications, it had ever moved.
It's mouth was at sea level, and initially, it's diet seemed to consist of a variety of sea life, and assumed that the frog had eaten the ship by mistake. At it's rear, they soon discovered remains of all kinds of fish, including Whale bones, along with flotsam and plastics, and other debris. Further investigations, unveiled remains of ships, and aircraft, this puzzled scientists at first, but at least explained that the cruise ship hadn't been the first mistake, if mistake it was?
Meanwhile, conspiracy theorists, and the like, around the globe, went into overdrive, and started now to believe that the frog was the cause of all the mysteries that had ever occurred in the area known as The Bermuda Triangle, further investigation, helped along with satellite images revealed, that indeed, there may an element of truth to it all, as some of the missing ships, and planes from a period of over 100 years, were discovered by the rear end of the frog.
Although this seemingly solved one mystery, the bigger mystery, and potential global threat, was the frog, and another worrying thought, was did it have the potential to reproduce. If that were a possibility, was there another 'frog island' somewhere, lurking in the oceans, somewhere on this planet?
Various instruments were landed on the 'island', using similar technology as used in missions to the moon, to carefully find samples, that may give some clues as to how to deal with the situation. It was soon discovered, that the frog was in fact at least 2,000 years old. Furthermore, there was some kind of undersea volcanic activity, originating from the frog itself, somehow connected to it's digestive system, and burning stomach acids. Further baffling, and worrying scientists, as any interference could cause dangers to the structure of the planet itself, and it was still unknown to where it's feet were, so further investigations were urgently needed, as time was of the essence.
Meanwhile, the frog simply stayed where it was, aware of all the hive of activity around, and upon it, and remembered a joke it had once heard "good morning mister frog, how deep is the water today?" "kneedeep kneedeep!" said the frog. The giant frog was so amused by this, it let out an enormous belch.
Meanwhile, a nearby ancient under water volcano erupted, sending a tsunami across the ocean directly towards the frog, and arrived just as the frog had belched, in the process drowned the frog instantly.
An island, not so far away, a pair of giant eyes opened....

The Frog and The Bee lived merrily on a log, in a bog in the middle of two Rivers, the River Louse and the River Wry.

They were best friends with the Mouse who had a house on the River Louse and the Elf with one ear and the Fly with one eye who lived on the River Wry.

One day the Frog, on the log in the middle of the bog, said to his dear friend the Bee, it's about time that you and I, the Mouse with the house on the River Louse, Elf and Fly had another adventure.
The Bee buzzed excitedly and said 'what did you have in mind?'
"Well" said the Frog, who lived on the log in the middle of the bog on the River Louse, where the Mouse had his house “I was thinking that you and I and the Fly with one eye could get together with the Mouse, who has a house on the River Louse, and the Elf with one ear and set out for the town of Cry which is on the River Wry”.
” I've heard” said the Frog, who lived on the log in the middle of the bog on the River Louse, where the Mouse had his house “that there is a horse living by the course of the River who because he is getting older needs some help getting his master and friend round the very long bend.”
“I thought you and I and the Fly with one eye and Elf with one ear and the Mouse with a house on the River Louse could come up with a plan to get the barge, the horse, his master and friend around the River bend at the town of Cry on the River Wry”.
“What a great idea” said the Bee to the Frog, who lived on a log in the middle
of a bog, let's go summons our friends, the Mouse with a house on the River Louse and the Fly with one eye and the Elf with one ear and help the master and his horse round the River course”.

So the Frog and Bee set out to find the Mouse with the house on the River Louse and the Fly with one eye and the Elf with one ear and explain to them that there was a horse who needed their help to get a barge and his master and friend around the River bend.
The Mouse with the house on the River Louse and the Fly with one eye and The Elf with one hear were easy to persuade, they all agreed to let Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, to take the lead.
Frog said to the Elf with one ear “we need to you to be the eyes for the Fly with one eye and help him find his way to the town of Cry on the River Wry”.
To the Fly with one Eye, Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog said “we need you to help the Elf with one ear and be his ears, working together to find your way to the town of Cry on the River Wry”

The friends set out on their way to the town of Cry on the River Wry, Frog, who, lived on a log in the middle of the bog, croaked very nosily as he hopped from lily pad to lily pad from River Louse, where the Mouse with the house lived, to River Wry and their destination the town of Cry.

The Bee buzzed happily on the shoulder of the Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, and accepted the ride with his friend to the River bend at the town of Cry on the River Wry.

The Fly with one eye and the Elf with one ear set out together, the Elf with his perfect eye sight led the way to the town of Cry on the River Wry.  The Fly with his perfect hearing kept the Elf safe from harm and alerted him to any creature that may be nearing.

It was a beautiful afternoon and the friends would get to the town of Cry on the River Wry soon, the Frog and the Bee, the Fly and the Elf and the Mouse with the house on the River Louse, would help their friend the horse and his master get around the very long course of the River at the town of Cry on the River Wry.

After several hours, the friends all agreed it wouldn’t be long now until their friend the horse would be in sight and they would use all of their skills and all of their might to help their friend navigate around the bend of the river at the town of Cry on the River Wry.

The Frog croaked to the Bee, look our friend is in front of you and me, the horse is close to the River bend and he will soon need all his friends to help him round the bend close to the town of Cry on the River Wry.

The horse was pleased to see his friends, the Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, the Bee and the Mouse who had a house on the River Louse, the Fly with one eye and Elf with one ear, he began to neigh and cheer, at last he would have some help from his friends to get him, the barge and his master and friend around the river bend.

The Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, asked the horse “how can we assist you and your master?”.  The horse replied ” of course I need good eyes and ears and lots of noise to guide the master, the barge and me, the horse, of course, around the river bend.”
The Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of a bog, replied “I have an idea, the Elf with one ear has perfect eyes and the Fly with one eye has perfect ears, myself the Bee and the Mouse with a house on the river louse can all make lots of noise, together we will all work to assist your master and you, the horse, around the river course".
The horse did neigh as if to obey and went to find his master.  With a collar around his neck attached to the barge he lowered his head and began to walk.
The Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of a bog and the Mouse who had a house on the River Louse and the Bee made as much noise as a trio of three could possibly.
The Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, did croak, the Mouse with a house on the River Louse, did squeak and the Bee did buzz and together they made an awful lot of fuss, and the horse did neigh as if to say, he heard them all just fine.

The horse continued to walk and the Fly with one eye and the Elf with one ear did appear, and encouraged the horse to walk on, the Fly with its perfect ears did listen to his friends, The Frog who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, the Mouse who had a house on the River Louse and The Bee, and talked the horse around the river bend.
The Elf with one ear and its perfects eyes did talk to the horse and describe the course of the river at the town of Cry on the River Wry.

In no time at all the horse, the barge and the master, his friend had gotten all the way around the large bend of the river at the town of Cry on the River Wry.
The horse did neigh as if to say "Thank You" to his friends, the Frog who lived on a log in the middle of the bog, the Bee, the Mouse with a house on the River Louse, The Fly with one eye and the Elf with one ear and invited them to stay for tea.
The Master was so pleased that he fell to his knees and said to the creatures big and small "thank you for your help today it is fair to say that without your noise, your perfect sight and perfect talk the horse would not have made the walk around the river bend".
"Now" said the master to the new set of friends "lets set up camp past the river bend and have a cup of tea", "thank you" said the Frog, who lived on a log in the middle of the bog and the Bee, "we’d love a cup of tea".

So this very odd group of friends sat around and made mend with a cup of tea and a fire to keep them warm as they swapped stories for the night and tomorrow the friends would make their way home.

The Frog, who lived on the log in the middle of the bog, turned to his special friend the Bee and said “thank you for believing in me”
Another story based poem, it's a bit epic, thank you to anyone who takes the time to read it.
