From birth children are told that love is bowing before an almighty god.
Bowing before their parents, priests, and teachers. Instilled with fear
of going to a fiery hell unless they believe what is laid out before them.

Is it a wonder how our world has turned out?

Tell me a truth I cannot challenge. Can you do it?
Well, with me, no. I will question and challenge everything.
It is with my curiosity that I take in the beauty of life, it is with this
curiosity that my perception changes from a fearful child to
an empowered, hopeful, and critical thinking adult.

I have not turned to science, but is more solace found there?

Scientists are not looked upon with fear the way gods are.
Scientists tell us of the enormity of the universe, how we connect
to it and are already a part of it. Instead of handing us impending
apocalypses, it hands us a galaxy that can support life for 30 billion more years.

So why not turn to science?
Because, once science told us the earth was flat.

Challenge your world.
Never stop asking questions.
Take not religion as your decider.
Take not science as your crutch.
Sit in silence and use what you find
within yourself to judge and perceive
this life. Here you will find freedom.
Here you will find personal truth.

to say that i love you?
an understatement
centuries wide.

If you keep singing this
in so many tunes and times
one day you may sing exactly
what is on my mind
*Just don't stop trying.

Golden is the colour of the night bathed in lights
Of the dark tarmac shining under headlights
Golden is the dream I dream of you in the darkest of nights
Of your smooth words whispered in my ears before far "Goodnights"

Golden is the last intoxicating, swirling sip on my fingertip
Golden the warmth that spreads to every end, every tip
Golden, the liquid luck that gives my heart fillip
Golden, even the white lies that spill from your lip

Golden is the carpet in which I curl my toes
Golden the courage that fills me as I reach up to you on tiptoes
Golden butterflies aflutter within me as you bend low
Golden the soulful strains of a song so slow

Golden the starlight from the star I wished upon
Golden the face of the curious moon trying to catch on
Golden the binds of the curtain that unfurl
Keeping our secret safe.
The clouds wander on the placid water plane,
Fallen dark angels, trapped in cold flat surface,
Surreal, above the slow swimming fish in the depth

My urge to wade in and stand knee-deep
Will now smash water's fragile memory
Of sun blazed cold clouds in to smithereens

The fish, unaware of all this
And an intimacy that goes beyond
Many incarnations, would tickle
Me from toe to knee, nibble till it bleeds.

Water, a memory beyond birth,
My momentary refuge, sin and redemption.
Pain that binds me with life's incessant
Yearning to go back to elements.

It's in blue water, watching her in full bloom,
Swim in exuberant mirth, I spilled my wild seeds.
And once, the ashes of my father's mortal remains
Went gently in to water, to be one with mother earth.

**Water, beginning and the end, my forgiving
Mother, waiting with stretched hands at both ends.

I cupped my hands
To drink from my River of Dreams
The water was sweet,
It stained my tongue
And cleansed my tear-stained cheeks
My dreams took flight
At the first swallow -
That is when I first saw you.
Unsure and hesitant, I was -
Until I tasted your kiss
The River I drank from so long ago
So here I sit,
Intoxicated
For you are my sweetest dreams,
Come true.
