Lorraine day
My eyes have captured so many visions of you
The way you smile
How beautifully you dance
I see your heart
It's so gentle and white in the purest form

Your strength is relentless
Your determination always prevalent

My eyes have captured so many visions of you
I've had the honour
The time
To watch you grow
My aim was to guide you
To teach you
Yet you have taught me so much more
Your energy
Humour
Fun
Intelligence
Shines like the brightest star

My eyes have captured so many visions of you
From the first day I held you
And each night since
I have watched you sleep
Stroked your beautiful face
Wishing all the best for you
Hoping all your dreams will come true
Being your mother
Has been the greatest blessing
As I remember each moment
Treasured Memories
My eyes capturing so many visions of you
Painting daily........
A portrait of my love ~
Written for my beautiful child who teaches me so much about myself and life in general I have watched her over the last 13 years with such interest and the depth of love felt moves me to tears  thanking God for this blessing

I stilled myself,
And in my stillness ,
Knew GOD.

All of life's greatest pleasures
Are those created by Gods own hands
The height of the sky and the depth of the sea
And the beauty upon the lands

The shimmering stars in the sky at night
Hang weightless above our heads
Keeping a vigilant watch over us
As we rest within our beds

A sea so deep it is still unknown
It remains a mystery to mortal men
While ships and boats float above
We wonder what lies below unseen

The beauty to us that God reveals
For our human eyes to behold
Has more majesty in each new scene
Than you would think the world could hold

Gods very work we can see
It is one of life's truest treasures
For compared to the beauty God has made
Mankinds hands could never measure

Some wore a uniform of gray
Some wore the one of blue
They were brothers from north and south
Some were sons and fathers too,

Each one was a soldier
A warrior in a fight
Now they are only ghost
Seen by men with sight,

Once their feet did march
Upon the battlefields grass
Now they are just an image
To be seen within the glass,

Many fell upon the field of battle
Some alone in a place so foreign
Now all that remains of them
Is a face on a sheet of iron,

When I look into the eyes on the faces
Of these men on iron or glass
I see not a ghost
But a man, a soldier from the past,

Though now he be only an image
He was once a soldier that in battle fell
And within each soldiers image
Is held a story he longs to tell.

Spent Sunday evening looking at some old photographs of soldiers from the Civil War and this came to me.
There's something about old photos of soldiers from the war that draw me, it's as if they yearn to speak to me and tell me their story so that we shall never forget.
Photos during the time of the Civil War were taken on glass,a ambryotype ,or on a thin iron sheet ,a ferrotype.

My breath like smoke
upon autumn's morn.

Into my boot chill water seeps,
the stream runs icy clear and deep.

He comes up swiftly, turns,
sees my fly and does reverse,
takes a pass and eyes the prize,
quickly I ****** back my line.

He is big and brown,
speckled and Steelhead sleek.

I cast again,
briefly let it float,
where he was
only a moment ago.

The silvers of his belly flash,
he rolls and rises
takes another look,
ever so sly and cautious,
or so he thinks.

Does this beauty not know,
I'm strictly Catch and Release?
My last outing, the stream
and he and me, perfectly symbiotic.
Briefly I touched his sleek body,
felt his power in my hands
then allowed him his freedom,
back into the depths of the stream
from whence he'd come.
For he and me,
a moment of elation shared.
