Paper cranes frame shadows as they fly above me
Eyes stirring under eyelids as they fill my dreams
Small paper balloons floating just above my reach
My fingers twitch as I try to grasp glowing strings

A paper man, I made, stitched up with bits of yarn
Turns his head, hearts for eyes, promising me no harm
His sky high legs bend down as he extends an arm
Fingers curl around me as I step in his palm

He lifts me up higher, then higher, then higher
My eyes light up as the beautiful scene transpires
Violet sky, birds, balloons, all for me to admire
Dancing around me, filling me with desire

All of the sudden a song fills my ears & head
It's making me turn my back, flooding me with dread
It controls my body, it pulls me to the edge
The birds scream louder as I'm closer to the ledge

The paper man looks, there is nothing he can do
The song taking my body, twisting it anew
Propelling over the edge, my final adieu
Closed my eyes and for once, I actually flew

What is this sound
melodic, pure, a feeling washes over me
one like jumping into a clear mountain spring
rushing through sand dunes giggling as I stumble
skydiving, knowing I am safe and will forever fly
this sound makes me want to listen always
like the birds singing and the winds whisper
the trees swaying telling their secrets
sunshine bathing me warming me to the core
the sound is your laughter
and it is my favorite music
if you would not mind laugh again please
I wish to dance

God
Has yet to
Teach me
His words
Or whether they be true
God as a child was
Not real
But I grew to need him
While alone in this cruel life
Yet he has not spoken to me
Only answered
Prayer after prayer
And for that I am thankful
But how am I to know
The kind of life he wants me to lead
If he does not allow
My soul to believe
The possible lies of his disciples
How am I suppose to make sure
I'm on the right track
When I already feel as though
I'm falling off before it begins.

I wiped it off my sleeve
So you couldn't see it
I watered down the words
So that you couldn't read it
You mean much more to me
Than you even know
And it would be wrong of me
To let you see the things I have to show

So I let you go
And you'll never know

Am I not hungry for you
am I not starved
ravenous
when I finally taste you
will I ever stop drinking
such sweet, pure sustenance
my life force, my drink
my breath and life
