That Sunday
after singing
in the choir
and changing
from the blue

and white gowns
and out
of the dim lit vestry
into the sunlight
at the back

of the church
Judith was standing
by a gravestone
reading the almost
indecipherable words

chiselled there
sad isn’t it
she said
that these people died
and are buried

and then the time comes
when you can’t read
who died or when?
you walked over
to where she was standing

and rubbed off
some of the green moss
with your hand
comes to us all
I guess

you said
when those whom we loved
or cared about die
and after we and those
who knew them are gone

there is no one left to care
who’s buried there
she looked at you
and you saw
her eyes water

and her lower lip tremble
you won’t forget me
will you? she asked
course not
you said

anyway
why are we getting
so **** morbid?
we’re alive
let’s live while we can

she walked away
from the gravestone
and stood looking
around the graves
behind the church

the sunlight
warming the stone
and her head
and you walked
next to her

and put your hand
on hers and said
I’ll never forget you
if you go before me
she smiled

and looked at you
I’ll always remember you
she said
other choir members
came out of the vestry door

and there was talk
and laughter
and Roger chased Shirley
along the path
and she looked back at him

giggling and making faces
and Judith said
some have no respect
for the dead
even in this

their resting place
human all too human
you said
and kissed her
sun blessed face.
Harsh the winds, canyons - deep your drowning
echoes mirrored a lifetime looked upon
sun slept, darkness crept calling
lift the shade, peace parade
roses laid a silken path or
reign the muddied road
all for you to choose
finding your way
toward home
At Gare du Nord, I was all at sea,
An anglophone drop, in a French sea, oui,
"Je parle anglais" was the last straw to hold on,
*How would I navigate to place  D'italie?
From Gare du Nord, railway station, Paris, to PlaceD'italie, my destination, with only the phrase "I know English"(meaning 'Sorry no French") to communicate and seek  help, it was really  an expedition proving  the effectiveness of sign language!
The fly makes his way through the house.
Its tongue, like billions before, is tainting
All it touches.  The fly has wings to spread
His mess, and though he has innumerable
Facets to his eyes he cannot see
The swatter coming.

The house surrounds the fly and is sacred.
As the great blue world beyond is sacred.
And the fly is spreading fast, flitting here
And sticking there trampling his own
Shelter, spreading pollution and excrement
With a rolling tongue

That spews and spits upon his own home.
And though he is happy while he soils
His house his eyes are two dead worlds
Barren and still, born to die by the hand
That flies even higher, so, the fly cannot
See the swatter coming.

Buzzing, like a burn, through the innocent
Air he dreams of vast minions rooting
His world with legion hands.  The house was
A garden that led him in, he cannot
Wait for his seed to fester, all's he needs
Are God’s green plants

And clean water, some fresh air to conquer.
This house was made for him he would have
Himself believe.  But when all has dried
And all is soiled the fly would wish to move
On, if only he could, trapped as he is
In the earth and wooden house.

He could taste it all, oblivious to oblivion
In God’s green wooded world— all spinning,
The sands are running in the sacred home
That he himself has always defiled,
As he has never shown any grace;
The swatters hand is His
Own hand.

Like  Kundalini's awakening,  for long this too was hidden,
the female part of my psyche, consorts
with male in her, to perfectly blend;
*with in us flowers the dynamics of Shiva-Shakti  dance
Shiva- the male principle in nature/human beings; Shakti -the female energy everywhere  present...every thing in universe is harmonious, when these energies blend in dance, which continues eternally. This is the crux of "Ardha Nareeswara"(Half man/woman) concept  evolved in ancient India.
