Poets, like
madmen and prophets,
are banned from
the Kingdom of Reason,
as they are
the progeny of the sun
(the sun who illumines as he blinds)
and the siblings
of the rays
who never tire
of beating
the world into
magnificent new shapes
that fascinate us
all – including
Unwavering Moon whose
lonesome secret is to be
madly in love
with the rainbow.

I won't approve.

Bird on my front porch.
It's been there way too long.
Why is it not flying?
There must be something wrong.
Livng on this huge earth.
There is so much to see.
Why is it not exploring?
But then again why isn't me.

I know where I'm going
You said
I know what I'm doing
You said
It's all good
You claimed
Well here we are
In a land
surprise surprise
You don't recognize.

I take issue
With those
Who tell me
What to do
Which no one knows
Since I'm too polite
To mention it
I Just keep it
To myself
