In My Feelings
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
She doesn't give a ****
So why do I
I shouldn't
Be giving
A **** either
What's done is done
The past
Should be
In the past
But when something is real
When something is so pure
And lovely
And beautiful
How can you ever
Forget about it
You might think it's easy
To get over someone
But what if
You were to see them happy
Every single day
I know I'm being selfish
But how
Do you hide the feelings
That's within
And also
A part
Of your heart

Light
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
I may have perfect vision
I may be able to see all colors
But
Everything around
Seems lifeless
Colorless
It was all colorful before
It was all
Full of light
With her
But then
One day
She left
She left and
All the colors
Just seemed to fade
I still see colors
But they're not
As bright as before
They do not
Emit
That bright light
Those vibrations
That would
Light up
My world
And now
My world
Is colorless
My world
Is lifeless
My world
Does not
Have any
Light

The Bigger Picture
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
Look up at the sky
Once in a while
And I hope
The pollution
Doesn't cloud
Your judgment
On how beautiful,
Enigmatic,
And scary
The universe really is
;
It's always there
Around us
In front of us
Yet we seem to be so ignorant
To the beauties
Created by
That higher power
;
Instead
We foolishly
Choose
To focus on
The smaller picture
When it's really the bigger picture
That should be marveled
And experienced
And most of all
In some way or the other
Understood

Grey
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
A while ago, when I woke up one day
All the colors had vanished,
everything was Grey

I didn't understand at first
I panicked a lot
I thought I was cursed

But part of me knew
A part deep inside
This was my cue

This wasn't death
I knew for one
This was worse

Whatever death is
Irrespective of how
It is shown

This was way worse
This was the worst
Than death itself
I can't say for sure

But I'm sure death is peaceful
Or so I have heard
From people who haven't ever died
Surprising

The feeling of heartbreak
Takes away all joy
And all colors

There's no peace
Only one thought
"why?"

A Connection
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
There are some relations
That don't need a connection
Through blood
They don't need to have existed
Since eternity
They rely on pure
Love
Understanding
Loyalty
And
Most importantly
A connection
A connection so strong
So raw
It's almost as if
It were made
Consciously
To last
To survive
To cherish
Through anything
It happens
For no rhyme
Or reason
It's rare
It's beautiful
It lasts for an eternity
So be sure
To cherish it
While it lasts
In the naive hands
Of a mortal

Lie To Me
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
Lie to me
So that
I feel better
About myself
Make me hear
What I want to
And not
What
I need to
Because I'd rather
Swim in the shallow
Side of the pool
With
Sharks of false pretenses
Than
Dive in the deep ocean
And find out
What truly lies
Beneath

Alone
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
Die alone
Born alone
So why
Is everyone obsessed
With a soulmate
You're alone in this world
Family, friends, or acquaintances
Like I said before
You come on your own
And you leave
On your own thrown
;
People everywhere
Looking for their person
But in reality
You are
Your own person
You are what you stand for
Your conscience
Is who you really are
So why
Bank on someone else
;
Have the guts
To admit
That whatever happens
Whether fate or not
Is, to an extent,
A majority extent, that is
Your own
You create the circumstances
Your actions creates the future
;
Don't blame the universe
Or fate
To what happens next
Because even if you do
It's alright
But one must understand
That what's happening to you
Is the end result
Of something
That you have started
;
You're alone in this world
Whether
You like or it not
You might have
A 100 friends on Facebook
You might have
1000 followers on Instagram
You might have
Infinite contacts
On your phone
But what keeps you humble
Is that, you're going to die alone

Swim
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
Gasping for breath on land is not normal; it's a sign
More than often, it means you're not fine
There's this feeling of fear, I don't know if you know
When you're gasping for breath in deep water, and everything's slow
Now maybe everyone hasn't swam or ****** when they tried
So just imagine the feeling of being engulfed; tide after tide
The water's too deep, and you can no longer swim
Even though you may know how to, you're frozen; limb to limb
You try to reach out to the shore, but it seems to go further away
You think you're swimming towards it, but part of you wants to stay
Now this feeling of drowning above sea level
May not make much sense, especially if you're on the shore admiring pebbles
I'm trying to equate the looming devil of one's mental health
To a person drowning in the sea by the tides that approach in stealth
Depression and anxiety never warn you by knocking on your door
They take you by surprise, sweeping you off your "safe" shore
But everyone has that basic survival instinct
To fight back to the shore so that they don't sink
But what can you possibly do when the tide is too strong
The strong may survive, while the weak sing the swan song
But the fact that you're still breathing, even if not as well as before
Should be enough to make you fight it back to the shore
The shore isn't the safe zone; hurdles are always coming
But as long as you're alive and kicking, don't ever stop swimming

Judge
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
Everyone talks
That's what people do
No matter what you do
There's always someone
Who will
Talk about it
Critique you
And the decisions you make
I guess that's what maturity is
That you
Continue doing things
That you like
That you love
Without thinking about
People who may judge
Or say
**** all things about you
Grow up
I guess
Do what you love
Love what you do
But most importantly
Don't give a ****
About what people say
Relax
Your only judge
Is you
You are
Your own master

Perspective
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
One moment you're sad
One moment you're happy
The moments may last long
But they do
Come to an end
Because everything
Does come to an end
Nothing lasts forever
Time makes sure of that
Time's an *******
But
It can be your best buddy
It depends
On how you perceive it
They say
Don't mess with time
Because
If and when time messes
With you
It does ***** you up
Big time
Stay positive
Moments change
Time passes
It's all about
How you perceive it
It's all about
The way
You think about it
You may have been taught
To think of certain things
In certain ways
But maybe someday
Use that unique brain
Of yours
To think
In your own way
;
I understand
That it's tough
To broaden your horizons
But there's something
Called your conscience
That's what you must
Actually
Listen to
Because
What you think
At first
Basically
The first thought
That comes to your mind
Is what
You, as a person
Are conditioned to think
But it's what comes to your mind
That small voice
That is your really guide in life
That thought
Or voice
That comes from within
That
Is what defines
Who you are

Ignorance is Bliss
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
She might look
Like she doesn't care
Her expressions
Might be
Of a person
Who couldn't care less
But you must know her
You really must know her
Because
If you're lucky enough to know her
If you're lucky enough
To be someone
She cares about
If you're lucky enough
To be someone
She really loves
You may realize
That the love
The care
The understanding
That you get from her
Will never be even close
To those
You thought were close to you
She may not show all her emotions
She may ignore your calls for weeks
But deep inside you know
Through your intuition
And her actions
That she would do
Anything for
You
Literally
Anything
;
I love you
For being there for me
When I need someone
And being there
Even when I feel I don't
I'm lucky
More than happy
To have known you
To have met you
Thank you

Please
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
It's the magic word
Is what my mom said
You use it when you need something
And it works like a charm
Why did you lie, mom
Why did you lie to me
Because when I said
Please stay back
She didn't give any answer
She didn't even reciprocate
I used that word
That word that I hate now
At least a thousand times
But it's value
Was always zero
But I guess that's on me
I could blame my mom
Or her
For that sinful word
But I guess it's all on me
To not understand
The true meaning
Behind that word
So I'd request you
To understand
To feel
To empathize
When you need to say
Please

Chaos
Rahul Luthra Aug 2018
Water water everywhere
Not a drop to drink
More like
People people everywhere
No one stops to think
The worst species on this planet
Are everywhere
It's not stopping, it's just increasing
While the average IQ
Goes on decreasing
It doesn't help that
More than half
Are dumber than a rock
I'm no longer taking education
As a standard
You know what I mean
Limited resources and
Unlimited people
Not so healthy for
This rotating rock
They fear adoption
And then when climate change hits
They look around in dumb shock
It's our fault that this planet
Is dying
And it's the harsh truth
But it'll all be over soon
But maybe we deserve it
We do deserve to breathe
And in this state of chaos
We're just meatsuits
Chasing materialistic greeds

Despair
Rahul Luthra Sep 2018
What do you say
To a person who's dying
Do you console them
Or do you lie
By saying
That
Everything's going to be alright
When you know for a fact
That it won't
How does one deal with such
Matters
Death,
We all know,
Is inevitable
Yet we live in a state
Of ignorance
And face this matter
Only when it's time to
Always
In a state of hopelessness
And despair
Because such a sensitive
And grave matter
Though it takes place
All around the world
All the time
Cannot ever
Be prepared for
No matter how sure we are
Of its existence
So what do you say
To a person who's dying
Will it be the harsh truth
Or consolation through lying?

Snowdrops and Rainflakes
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
An old and wise fellow once said,
"Don't trust the trees, but pray to its root"
We thought the man had lost his head
But in his his defense, he was hanging from a tree in a parachute
The tree had no pity, and I can tell you why
For it was poisonous, and the man soon died
The tree then looked at us, and said: "Don't be shy"
Was I dreaming? My friend bellowed: "RUN AND HIDE!"
Things around us were just an illusion
Yet the fear in me seemed too **** real
So we came to this abrupt conclusion
That maybe we didn't know how to feel
I looked above me into the vast, blue sky
But it had started to melt down on us because the sun was so bright
So I jumped into the lake, an in attempt to fly
My friend stayed back; he wanted to put up a fight
I had reached a place which had no concept of time
The sheep whizzed past, while the llamas crawled like snakes
My head hurt; I really craved some lime
So I went to the lighthouse to get a few milkshakes
An object or a person
Can be somewhat judged from their exterior
But all that glitters is not always gold
Don't mingle with those who make you feel inferior
There may be moments when you may feel
That you're the unluckiest of the lot
But to think and brood is no way to heal
You won't know your worth until you give a shot
You may choose to live in places that are close
To friends and family, or people you feel safe around
But they will get annoyed if you're constantly under their nose
While trying to please others, don't forget your own hearts sound
It's normal when things in life just don't make any sense
So just sit and admire the snowdrops and rainflakes
Relax, and breathe; try not to get tense
Take a time out from life; go grab some milkshakes

Home could be a person
It may take years
For someone
To truly find
Something
That they can call home
You may live in a mansion

May feel more at home

My Person
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
Do you have that one person
Whom you trust more than yourself
Mostly because they don't let you
make those ******* decisions
That you'll make later on anyway
But at least they try
That one person
Who is referred to in Grey's Anatomy
As "my person"
That one person who may not be
On your friend list on Facebook
But is closer to you than any of
those 1220 unknown people
who's pictures you like
I hope you have that person in your life
For no matter what trouble you're in
No matter how stressed or angry or depressed you are
They take equal share in those emotions
And even help you out of it
To those who may not have that person
I hope you find them
The term soulmates are romanticized
for no rhyme or reason
That should be for you to decide
Not society
So,
If you hadn't thought of this before
Do you know now at least
Who could be your person?

In My Time of Dying
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
It's a couple minutes before I bite the dust
And I know that's a fact, it's my gut that I trust
While a lifetime of memories flash by me
I'm a little excited as to what is next to see
But I'm saddened as well, as there were many things
That I had promised myself I would do
And back then, I knew,
That I was just lying
And now, I have a few moments to repent,
In my time of dying

Things to Say - Part 1
Rahul Luthra Jul 2018
I love to ****
Mosquitoes
Were you taken aback for a second
Do you like Doritos
Am I wasting your time
I'm sorry if I am
You see, I don't really talk much
I'm never taken seriously by my fam
So maybe you'll understand when I tell you that idk what to say
I mean I do know what to say
But I find it tough to express it; anyway
I find society annoying
But I understand it is essential
For if we lived like animals
The ensuing chaos will be consequential
I'm not referring to the animals we tame
Nor am I denying that chaos is already here to say
Do you now understand what I meant when I said
That idk what to say even though I do know what to say
My flow of speech is flawed
The things I think are absurd
The most common thing that I'm told
Is that I've strayed too far from the herd
I've come to an understanding about our world
As in, most people that we live around
Like to live within their perceptions
Things outside of it, to them, is an unfamiliar sound
I'm not some smart Saint or prophet
I'm just an average person; an equal
Who has a lot of things to say
But to hear them all, stay tuned for the sequel

— The End —
