Time slowly ticking away.
Drifting in and out of slumber.
Reality losing its true meaning.
Body so exhausted, mind on full speed.

Time slowly ticking away.
Tossing and turning.
Can’t ever find a comfortable spot.
Questioning continued attempts.

Time slowly ticking away.
Slightest sounds startling.
You’re burning up, then freezing cold.
Frustration growing bigger by the second.

Time slowly ticking away.
You’ve slept the slightest,
but that ended quickly.
The whole endeavour repeats.
