Electric tension
while lightning strikes
and unheard thunder
play into my vision
over arching rows
of tree-shadow,
exposing back-lit
the transparent faces
of cloud front
unable to contain the opaque
of rain-break thickening
beneath their billowing lips.

A flash of laughter
and the spatter of drops
spotting patterns on my jacket.
