I've never been good with metaphors
but you are
(by far)
so if I try and liken you
to a rose, or a star, or some wind,
I'm afraid you'll  just find it clichΓ©
when in reality, I don't know how to say        that
you're the most beautiful creature
and if you
had thorns, I'd still hold you
just as tightly as I do now
        that
you've given me light,
life, and
i can easily locate your mouth
in the dark
                            that
you have more power over my life
  than you realize
you put stars in my eyes
and knocked
me to the ground
but I know you know
I love you
because I never miss the second round
even though
I can't very well
compare you (without the use of "like" or "as")
to anything clever  without sounding dumb
I think you are aware
of where I'm coming from
I'm in awe of you
and I've succumbed
