When as newborns Adam and Eve
In perfect equilibrium I believe
Lived a life of great harmony
In unison, the vile serpent and apple
In their conspiracy, caused the battle
And then there was company.
Adam and Eve, when betrothed
Spoke in a melodious sign language
All unspoken words sweet as treacle
Married…Adam morphed into a yokel.
Leaving, their nudist camp - forbidden
Established in the Garden of Eden.
Adam decided to wear raiment grand
Latest fashions, latest brands
Speech became dependant on the depth of his pocket
If shallow, as a daily dose, from Eve, he’d get the rocket.
If only instead, had they eaten the serpent…an unholy conspirator
Today Eve would’ve listened and Adam been the mellifluous orator.
Humour, laughter
