My hands
will always be far too small to catch all that is crumbling.
It is all crumbling.
It seemed to have imploded,
infiltrated from the inside,
we lost all that we had
(which really wasn't much)
I don't think it can ever be the same,
Broken things are hard to put back together-
especially when no one wants to.
I showed up,
hard hat on my head,
ready to repair,
until I saw that I was the only one there.
