I write because
It frees me
From deep inside
My soul cries out
Through the ink on the page

I can hide behind the words
And yet release my inner being
Because no one
Reads a poem
Exactly the same

I write because
I love the way
The pen glides smoothly
Over an untouched surface-
The canvas for my lyrical paints

Writing is music
For my literary mind
