I will remember the waking
Of many mornings
Golden 7 a.m.s filling the room
Grey grogginess of nightmares melt

The most beautiful waking
Is to the sound of birds and rain
Shaking me to wake me up
With a kiss on the hand

You run a close second
Waking up to the sound of you turning
And pulling the covers over your shoulders
And off of my legs
(I don't mind)

We are each other's invitations
To change and growth
And a beautiful garden
Is blooming outside your window
