Whilst we stroll hand in hand
across this bed of broken sand
and walk towards the temple on the hill,
as I turn to see you smile I brush the hair that hides your eyes
and wonder if I ever will.

I pinch myself for it not real
to be so close to you and feel
the tender loving warmth of your kiss,
I try and hold that picture near
so that you wont disappear
into the darkening shadows of the mist.

I look around and you are gone
my dream it seems to have moved on
and daylights come and been all but too soon.
I try and count a trillion stars
whilst taken in some sights on Mars,
but Jupiter has lost it's Diamond Moon.

I wake to sounds of wind and rain
praying that you fall back again
into the constellation of my dreams,
I look for you,
but all I find,
is glowing embers locked in time
and the footprints,
where we once stood.
