Blood Donors
why don't more Aussies
go and give blood
its all very easy
there's never a flood
of life giving fluid
always it's short
and as all will know
life can't be bought
in other parts
of the world to-day
their are some folk
who bleed for their pay
it's got to be
much better our way
so let's keep it free
forever to stay
a pint is all you'll give
for some poor ill soul
the feeling you get
is like kicking a goal
they'll test you
for all manner of sin
and that too is free
each way it's a win
when all is done
you'll lie around for a while
with bickies and tea
fruit juice and a smile
a stick you'll get
to whack on your car
a white bandage too
to show what you are
a donor of blood
is said to be special
to give of yourself
and not take a shekel
pleased be with yourself
and all will admire
the giver of blood
let no life expire
The 14/06/2014 is the International Day Of Blood Donors.
