I'm not what I appear to be
I wear a mask so bright
And in the depths where few can see
A tangled web resides in me
I'm not what I appear to be
A painted smile a perfect soul
Yet deep inside I'm torn and frayed
A dreamer lost in the charade and
Yes I'm not what I appear to be
And you'll never know what I know
While fears and doubts I must embrace
My heart does sing and shout and
I search for meaning in the Lord's light
And now you see me now you don't
I'm not what I appear to be
So here I am paradox
A puzzle wrapped in paradox
And if you stop to look and see
You might just find it's more than me.
I'm not what I appear to be.
