Nov 2013
on Wednesday
I tied my bonnet well down
as the excessive blustering wind
nearly blew it off my crown

without my bonnet
firmly affixed to my head
the overly hot sun
would have burnt it scarlet red

the weather is becoming
more volatile by the day
awesome winds
and huge doses of sunlight
along with drenching flooding rains
seemingly are all at play

mother nature
is on a rampage
shortly we'll have to resort
to a protective cage
her severity is seen
daily on our television screens
or in the Guardian
newspaper pages

the weather norms
are well out of whack
and every corner of the planet
is under attack

climatic patterns
just aren't the same
they're no longer
as regular or tame
