unwinding their main spring stories
in whirlpool colors and Faustian sounds
playing the sleeper; hook, line and sinker
across that surface tension between tic\toc
in waking, breaking  line, loose the catch
winding up forgetful shattered ornaments
as day delivers pasteurized light displays
and presumes the world is out of bed
