By day, in crayon lines they dwell,
Bright monsters born where wild thoughts swell.
At night they stir, with teeth that gleam,
And claws that rip through fragile dreams.
Their laughter howls; the dark's a curse.
Children's drawings often tell a darker reality and truth.
