It was so long ago
When I last felt your embrace;
The warmth is just
A memory, burned behind
my retinas.
A touch I once longed for
Now smolders in my mind.
Locked behind a wall of sorrow;
Maybe I’ll love like that
Again tomorrow.
This is the poem I submitted as an application, enjoy!
