Tears trickled down her smudged face,
Her dress tattered,
No shoes on her bruised feet,
Clutching tightly the Quran to her chest.
Through my lens,
I heard silences deep within her soul,
More than her screams,
I saw fearful eyes revealing more than her words could,
Many like her helpless,
Unable to do anything,
As thousands all over the world pray for them every second.
