All I have now is this saccharin smile
Plastered all over my face
The sweet one I had lost all its pizazz
As it dragged on through the day after day

It might have melted in the turmoil
When things started heating up
It's easy to sour in this world
When that's about all you've got

This saccharin smile that I've had for awhile
Leaves a bitter aftertaste
On the tip of my tongue with all that is wrong
And everything out of place

Yet I guess it serves its purpose
To those still hanging around
I'm sure that it's well worth it
Being better than that of a frown
