I began by beginning because
no one ever won by not winning
and the day opens wide for me
almost as if
it’s a gaping hole waiting for dentistry

and to move on
I fill up with four star,
coffee not petrol.

I’m still the first
they’re all lazybones
still
tucked up in their beds
in their holiday homes
meanwhile
in
Maside
I’m tucking into
breakfast.
