Shirley had a Temple
Where people worshiped her
Started out in black and white
Soon turned to color

Had us all follow along
To her song and dance
Made her way into our hearts
And she never left

Shirley has a Temple
On the walk of fame
There’s never since been one like her
And never will again

This innocence on the good ship
Called the lollipop
Times were so much better then
As we all sang along

When Shirley had a Temple
Where she daily graced the stage
Back when life was simple
Back in Shirley’s day
