you* are the mirror kissed by
the beams of the sun thereon
showering light upon a dark,
slovenly and secretive corner
of a small room. As if

I am that small room
brightened with so much light
it blinded me, it troubled me, but
I loved the light not the mirror
that breaks...
This is a translation of my Filipino poem entitled "Parang."
