Been away from it
Days
In estranged disgrace
Chasing
Some sleep
But my feet
Still insist in outpacing
The time it requires
To enter the rem
As a kid could be hours,
In seconds, now ten
All it takes
Stay up late
And before dawn awake
Just to do it all over again
Double take
But it’s hard to break habits
Convenience’s sake
If the pay out
Is played out
It’s still making sense
To be teaching my craft
And then drafting laments
Even if I’d prefer
Eulogies
Evergreen
Be they natural,
Pack a bowl
What does it mean?
Or the digital
Black as coal
Money machine
