It was like she'd whispered to me,
'sit in the front car and comfort me'
but that was reserved for the undertaker
and the sour looking men in black,

when we got back to remember her
with beer and pie at the wake
and the ache
ah
the ache of feeling empty,

like she'd whispered to me
and I'd thought I imagined it.
