when the shadows creep away
at the ending of the day,

she's gone and yet she has not
she's still pottering about and
watching out for her family,

as her spirit takes wing and flies
she finds the time to wipe the tears
from our eyes,

at the ending of the day
when the shadows creep away
she keeps watch.
