In the winter I shiver
From morning till night
Near the frozen river
That glimmers on sight
It’s not for beginners
On thin sheets of ice
As the stars shine and shimmer
Like diamonds; quite bright
Using only slightly a sliver
Of silver and gold
To enhance the quality
Of a cold piece of stone
And entice the giver
With no cold nights alone
While being kept warm by the fire
Inside our new home
