I see the ocean in your eyes
The whole wide world in your brain
I just want to be a part of your heart
But it must contain
The whole universe
And you hurt
You toil and trouble and try
But mostly hurt
Will you let me go swimming in your soul?
Will you forget me and leave me alone?
I can’t take either, I’m not strong enough
And your skin is so soft, it’s almost too soft to touch
I’m quite aware of the demons you bore
But life is ready to give you more
I will carry you as far as I can
And rest your head on a blanket of sand
There your eyes will reflect all that we see-
A mirror-image of hope and gravity
