A lighthouse stands
solidified on
the shifting sands.
Alone,
at home with wind and waves and braves the storming of its battlements by sending messages of hope that scope across the hidden rocks
to light the way of merchantmen
and show the paths of safety to
the shipping lanes where they'll be
safe.
