A kind word says I am your kind

A kind word says I am your kind, our kind don't hurt our kind.
Our grandchildren can breed,
we are beings of the same order of Magi.
We share magnifying gifts for seeing tiny things larger by seeing ourselves small.
We are the generation of atom knowers.
We are the generation who saw the power of the unseen things that make everything.
We know that all we see is made of stuff we cannot see.
Enchantments in our tales tell
how we came to be so.
We were arrows in a father's quiver, fletched with magi-tech feathers.
Aim at nothing and you hit it, same with everything. But we're the arrows.
I think this is in a book called Unmazing Grace, but it is in the trilogy soon to come
