I look into the sunset
My eyes become blinded by the light

I know this to be true every time
But sometimes I hope it not to be as bright

Everyday her light beams
She uproots me from the ground

She fills my head full of dreams
Performing to the beat of my sound

Clouds masking her iridescent qualities
I felt I shouldn’t point out her flaws

She smolders down faux love
And then quickly withdraws

It’s just a cloudy day I say
She’ll back again soon

But again, perpetually, I’m left in the dirt
Screaming at the moon
