More than her cat died that night.
Childhood a decaying corpse as well.
Nothing lasts forever or should it?
Maybe our soul? Maybe heaven, hell?
Prayers before bed on bent knees
seem silly now. It is a mad world in
which we pretend to know how to live.
No instruction manual. Just a final breath.
