Jul 2013
presently clouds are amassing
to the west of here
and by lunchtime
we'll see a drop or two of rain
falling around here

the moisture will be so nice
as the ground is set harder than a sheet of ice

we've not had rain
in these parts for some while
it's been drier
than a country mile

as I speak
the clouds are making haste
it would seem
they've got no time to waste

big fat drops
are now falling on my roof
their plopping and dropping
is audible proof

this minute
I'm so glad
I'm
not
outside
getting
wet
in
it
