The film finished
a story told
the credits rolled
and we went off to
buy a bag of chips
pretending we were
Bader
reaching for the skies.
Saturday,
town full of older folk
kids not allowed after the
street lights came on,
no closed circuit
just a network
of mum and dad
and if you'd been bad
you'd get 'what for''
No one knows no one now
and how would you know no one
anyway.?
we used to know everyone
even the dustbin man,
they call them something else now,
how and why
we still wonder about Bader
as we
reach for the sky
