When they ask you
to put on a mask,
You
want to question it?

they might as well talk to themselves
but we talk to ourselves, don't we?
and
about those internal conversations
we all have, why are mine
getting rowdier?
how do'ya
stop them?

I am and
are you,
suffering?
do you find that
you're
eating too much?

YESss
I just stuff it all in
but
eventually, I'll have to pay for it
and yet here we are and
I hardly question it.

Time marches on
but it
seems to have stood still,
maybe that's why
I'm barely crawling,
trying to understand it
and trying even harder
to fit it all in
which I have no doubt  I will

I guess that's how I cope
fill up my belly
when I know that there's hope

and now
I can see
that places are opening up again
old faces appearing again
and there is nothing to fear in
that.

so when they ask you
to put on a mask
You
should
put one on.
