Jul 2020
you've been the eye
of my storm

and have taken great pains

to allay my fears that
we'll ever be apart

now the morning is here
and as the shadows vanish

I think of merry England
her history

namely
the old saw

of how the sun
never sets

on the British Empire

thank you so much
my love

for always confirming
that to be true
