Living In A World New

Once not long ago, the birds use to
Sing in the trees outside my window
But where are they now
I’d give my life to know

Once not long ago, the Sun use to shine
Life was as beautiful as a rainbow
But where is it now, its warmth
And its light it refuses to show

Now the sky is grey and heavy with rain
The leaves whither and fall
My days are filled with darkness
And life doesn’t feel worth living at all

Even the Stars refuse to sparkle
And the Moon has lost its glow
Old man river is dry and his
Water is stagnant without flow

Once not long ago, you were mine
And I thought our love was true
But now you’re gone and I’m alone in
Darkness, living in a world new
