May 2013
The other one wakes in the darkness,
Stretching out her sinuous limbs in abandon.
She watches in still preparedness.
She can move in an instant.
The slightest whimper gives away our position,
She strikes with ruthless intent.
Ripping our reality to shreds.
Nightmares are her playground.
You do not dare meet her eyes,
They are bottomless dark pits that drag you into a vortex.
She lives within, she feeds on fear.
She is one of us.
